A Good Reader

"Ronto! Ronto! Come back, boy. Don't leave me now!" Kanara yelled in tears. What emotion some books have, isn't that right? Island of the Blue Dolphins is such a heart warming book. I'm just lucky I'm a successful reader. Just think; if I wasn't a great reader, I would never be able to read a book that was the key to a new world. This book is my fourth book this summer and still I can't put it down. My parents sure get mad when I'm up past 12 with my eyes buried in the book.

Have you ever thought how the world would be without any books? I have, but as I see it, it's a sight of terror. Nobody would know or be able to learn how to read. But not only that, there would be no books in the world including math, science, and history books. No one would be able to explore magical, impressive, beautiful worlds that you can hold in the palm of your hand. There's so much one can learn from a book. That's why it is one of the most important things in the world not just to be able to read, but to be a successful reader.

Have you ever read a book that is filled with fear, romance, excitement, journeys, or laughter? Being a good reader isn't just being able to read. It means much, much more. Like when you're reading a book filled with terror, you have to be able to feel it, understand it and think what can happen next. Remember before when Ronto was dying? I could feel the pain Kanara was going through while losing her best friend.

In conclusion, being a good reader has many rewards. So remember you have to feel it, understand it and think what will happen next.
